NOW WHATSo this is one of the most strange questions and emails Ive received. Personally in my career Ive encountered an uncomfortable number of HR folks who fibbed on their resumes. As a former HR Director my comment is you should be scared of getting caught becauseyou will get caught.

It depends upon the lie and the job. Fake it till you make it is my motto. However you can be sued for lying on your resume.
